I Heart My New Spring Wreath

Last week I was bemoaning the fact that I haven't been crafty in a long time. So I was crafty last night! Yeah me! I made a cute burlap wreath. I can't take credit for the idea. I got it from Melinda on her blog, Under my Umbrella. I love her blog and she has the best ideas!! The link goes to the tutorial for the wreath, but definitely check out her other posts too!

I got some burlap--ok, lots of burlap--4 yards of it--but I only used about 1/3 of it (I cut in to thirds leaving it 4 yards long). The only color they had was the light brown-called Oyster or something. I wanted the natural color, but they were all sold out. But that is okay because it turned out pretty cute--if I do say so myself.

Here is the base:
Because nothing is finished till it is distressed, and because it looks kinda cool, I took a black inkpad and rubbed it all over the burlap so it kinda gives a dirtier look. I really like it. And apparently the lighting in my room is terrible.

I'm actually making two wreaths, one for me and one for my co-worker's wedding present. Here is the one for my co-worker:
She has a thing for birds, I guess. That is what her wedding theme is, so I put two little birdies on the wreath.

I haven't finished mine, but it is going to have the same flowers but instead of birds, I might put a butterfly on it. I don't know.

I heart being crafty!! It is so productive!!
