A Halloween Miracle

It was a Halloween Miracle! Usually Christmas gets all the miracles, but this year, Halloween received the miracle. :)

The chair for our activities committee for our ward is Lexie. Lexie is awesome. She texted me late Sunday night and asked me if I could help with the ward Halloween party that we had last night. I said, "Sure. What do you need?" When I asked, I thought I was volunteering some of my Halloween decorations.

Nope.

Lexie asked if I would be a fortune teller.

yep. Seriously.

So yesterday I was able to pull together a fortune teller costume in one hour (on my lunch) and spent less than $20. Again, Seriously.  See, I told you it was a miracle. :)

I found a terrible looking moomu, belt and press on nails at Goodwill ($15). And the wig I got on clearance at Joann's ($3-clearance!). Christiana was generous and let me use a bunch of her jewelery (free!), and I had some scarves, the sarong, and the shawl already.  It was brilliant.

I named her Madame Zamboni. She told your fortune by having you pull three cards from her cauldron of destiny. (The cards were preschool ABC, numbers, and basic vocabulary cards). And then she would make stuff up using those cards. It was ridiculous. :)

Lexie (Mime), Alissa (Sleeping Beauty), Christiana (Flo, the Progressive Insurance Girl),
Sierra (Peasant Girl), and Rachel (Mime). Hilarious!
Sierra, Trulie (as Bellatrix LeStrange from Harry Potter), and Jessica, the cutest box of popcorn!
Yep, that's Joe, aka Bob Marley-io. And he made his wig himself. Awesome!

Amanda trying to give Sean a high-five.
Then someone started tossing a cowboy hat down from the loft and tried to get it to land on Christiana's head. It only happened once.

So that is the tale of Madame Zamboni and the Ward Halloween Party. So fun. I love having fun costumes. :)

And because this month is a month of Gratitude (well every month should be, but in light of Thanksgiving...), I want to include something that I'm grateful for every day.

Today I am grateful for my friends, especially the ones in my ward right now. They make parties like our Halloween party last night fun. I will always have a special spot in my heart for my YSA ward, especially my girlfriends in this ward. :)
